Deep Condition Overnight

For those who claim to have no spare time to do their hair or looking for a way to cut their hair routine time down, try Deep conditioning overnight!
It's a no-brainer right?!

This method is great for busy moms like myself, those who are always on the go and for those who are looking for an intense treatment.
Here's what I do to save time:
I shower and shampoo the night before. I then apply my deep conditioner on my damp t-shirt dried hair. Put on the plastic cap and tie my satin scarf over it for security. Wake up in the morning and rinse. Apply leave-ins and air dry in a bun or you can reverse it: Deep condition on dry hair overnight then co-wash it out in the morning.
Simple!

This method is great since you don't have to constantly run in and out of the shower or sit under the dryer when you have things to do. I tend to use oils or moisture deep conditioners for the Sleep n Treat method. I would never use a protein based conditioner for this method as I would run the risk of getting hard/stiff hair.
Try it, if you haven't :)

TOOTHPASTE PIMPLE SHRINKER

TOOTHPASTE PIMPLE SHRINKER
"Dehydrates the pimple and absorbs the oil." It works for me and may work for you. Beware if you have sensitive skin though; some people report increased redness and irritation.

Instructions: Before going to bed, wash and moisturize your face as usual. Apply enough toothpaste on the pimple to cover it completely. You may experience a temporary burning sensation. Do not rinse off until the morning. I have better results with creamy toothpaste over the gel versions. If I'm going out on the town, sometimes I do this treatment for about 10 minutes, and then wash it off with water.

Additional notes: "Be careful not to use a whitening toothpaste because they tend to have high levels of hydrogen peroxide that may irritate or burn the skin."

The Truth Behind Dr.Miracle

Hi ladies! One of the things I can inform you about is that "Dr. Miracle" does NOT work. It's a scam it is great for locking in moister but it does not help your hair grow. It only tingles when you first put it on not during the process of hair growth. While it's costing $8.00 a bottle for this junk it doesn't even work. It is only a good moisturizer .Dr. Miracle makes a great scalp moisterizer though. Please feel free to add more info on reviews on products and other types of info.

Honey Natural Hair Conditioner

Honey Natural Hair Conditioner:

1/2 cup of honey and
2 tablespoons of olive oil (if you have normal hair) or 1/4 cup if your hair is dry and damaged.

To prepare it:

Mix the two ingredients and apply on hair making sure the scalp is well covered. For even better results, gently massage the scalp. Cover the hair with a shower cap and forget about it for 30 minutes or so. Wash the hair with a shampoo and rinse well. Dry off as you normally would.

Note: Both honey and olive oil do wonders without a problem but I found that this recipe works even better if I take a shower while the conditioner is working or if I heat up the olive oil before mixing it with honey. The heat helps the nutrients penetrate the scalp better.

Honey is an antiseptic and is known to clean the scalp and hair well while olive oil adds the much needed moisture to dried out hair and just a little bit of moisture boost to normal hair.

Sleep Helps Hair Growth?

Sleep and Hair Growth
Sleep is when the body does most of its repair workWhen we forgo sleep, it shows up physically, emotionally and mentally. When the body loses out on sleep, hair loss can occur.

Significance
During sleep, body tissues and muscles are repaired and restored. Growth hormone are secreted during sleep. Sleep is a growing, building and restorative process
Considerations
Sleep apnea can obstruct breathing passages. It can also cause damage to blood capillaries that carry nutrients and oxygen to hair follicles. This can lead to unhealthy hair and hair loss.
Stress
Lack of sleep can be caused by stress; in reverse, lack of sleep can cause stress. Stress can cause an imbalance of hormones in the body and result in hair loss, hair damage and stunted hair growth
Sleep Patterns
Erratic sleep patterns, too much or too little sleep, can speed up hair loss and be responsible for dull, brittle and dry hair. Sleep lets the body relax, refuel and re-energize, promoting hair growth and hair health.
Immune System
Lack of sleep can weaken the body's immune system. This can cause a host of problems, including hair loss, hair breakage and unhealthy hair.
Benefits
Eight hours of sleep are beneficial for most people. Adequate sleep allows the body to perform, function and stay healthy. Before you change your shampoo, consider changing your sleep patterns

Product Review - Miss Jessie's Curly Meringue

Miss Jessie's sent me this sample to do a review
What it's supposed to do:Medium Hold, Define Curls, Control Frizz, Add Shine, No more curl shrinkage, No more dull curls

Ingredients: Purified Water, Carbomer, PVP, VP/VA Copolymer, Vegetable Glycerin, Triethanolamine, Wheat Germ Oil, Lemongrass Extract, Sodium Hydroxymethylglyclycinate, Tetrasodium, EDTA, FD&C Yellow 5, Fragrance.

What did it do for my hair: I must say the price is pretty high for an 8oz jar, its
$22. I applied it using the L.O.C (Liquid,Oil,Cream) method, which I use to moisturize my hair. I styled it in flat twist, and I loved it.The hold was good. Next, I tried it on damp hair for a curly fro, Loved it! My hair was defined and shiny. Using the very last bit of the packet i decided to use the product w/o oil or anything else, because I really wanted to see what it actually does. It holds, my hair felt kinda dry but it did have a little shine.
So far so good! Oh, how could I forget! The smell is AMAZING, people could smell my hair as i walked past them and they would tell me how the smell was LOVELY!

Ways To Thicken Your Hair and Edges

  • Castor oil is great for thickening hair. Jamaican Black Castor oil works well also and some swear that it thickens better than regular castor oil.
  • Keep your ends in check. Split, broken ends can eventually thin your hair out if they're not trimmed when they need to be.
  • Limit heat usage. Excessive heat can also cause split ends, breakage, and ultimately thin hair.
  • Look for products that contain "panthenol" (typically found in moisturizing deep conditioners) as an ingredient. Panthenol consists of vitamin B which allows for great moisture, thickness, and growth.
  • Products such as MTG, Nu-Gro, and biotin are also said to promote thickness.

My New Shower Cap and Bonnet (Product Review)

I was given the amazing opportunity to review some of the AMAZING shower caps and bonnets from MY CELESTIAL SOULS

Now, I'm one of those people that usually wore a grocery bag  on my head when deep conditioning my hair or giving myself hot oil treatments etc.  The regular shower caps (the thin plastic ones) would always tear easily, wear out, get a stinky smell, etc. So, when I got this shower caps, I was amazed at a point. Check Out My YouTube Video To See All That I Had To Say
The shower cap is a very THICK  plastic that is VERY heavy duty and can hold lots of hair/product inside. It's tight enough around head to keep whatever products you have on our heads inside, but not too tight where it cuts off circulation.

They are REUSABLE as well!
I HIGHLY recommend these shower caps and bonnets!! You will NOT be disappointed. They are not uncomfortable either.
Please check out their WEBSITE and go on over to their FACEBOOK, "like' them" and let them know I sent you!

You need to trim if:
- You have split ends
- You have damaged hair
- Your hair has been dyed several times
- You have relaxed hair
- You experience alot of breakage
- You want to maintain your length and grow more
- Your ends are dry and brittle

You do not need to trim if:
- Your ends are uneven
- Your ends are well maintained and healthy
- You just got a trim or don't need one
- Your ends are well moisturized

Great Hair Product Substitutions

SHAMPOO:
Instead of spending a portion of your check on pricey shampoos, opt for liquid Castile Soap instead. (About $8 for 32oz.) This soap is inexpensive and lasts a long time. Another alternative? Buy a box of baking soda for under $1, add a bit your conditioner, and then wash with the concoction.

CREAMY MOISTURIZER:
Purchase 1lb of shea butter for around $10 and your favorite oil (coconut, safflower, olive, etc.) for under $10. Whip up your own creamy moisturizer from this combination, and have a product that lasts you a year or more -- longer than your commericial product option. Allergic to shea butter? Try another butter like mango or avocado.

* Add conditioner to your mix for another $1 (e.g., Suave, V05)

SPRITZ MOISTURIZERS:
Save the $4 or more you spend on braid sprays or daily spritzes, because there's a cheaper option. Purchase a mini spray bottle for around $1 and a bottle of your favorite oil for under $10. Mix some water (FREE) and some drops of oil in the spray bottle. That's it! What happens if you run out of this concoction you just made? Just whip up some more. Your little use of oil should last you several months to a year, depending on the amount you purchased initially. This is another homemade product that is cheaper in the long run.

LEAVE-IN CONDITIONERS:
Buy a bottle of an inexpensive conditioner, such as V05 or Suave, for around $1. Purchase a mini spritz bottle for around $1. Mix some conditioner with water in the bottle, and for $2 you have a leave-in!
MOISTURIZING DEEP CONDITIONER:
Shea butter and certain oils have conditioning properties. In many cases, the creamy moisturizer you mix can also be used as a deep conditioner. Just warm the mixture, apply it to your hair, put on a shower cap, wrap with a towel, and let it sit for 20-30 minutes. Rinse it out and your hair will feel soft and moisturized. Another option? Opt for LustraSilk Cholesterol conditioner for under $2 ($3 in some places) and throw in your favorite oil.

HARDCORE RECESSION:

Three products that are multi-purpose and will allow some to manage until times are not so rough: castile soap (~$8), shea butter (~$10 per lb), and coconut oil ($10). Need cleansing? Use castile soap. Need moisture or conditioning? Mix shea butter with coconut oil, or use them separately. For under $30, these products can last you up to a year.

SHOWER CAP:
Do you find yourself purchasing shower caps more often than you'd like? Well, keep that money in your pocket and use the grocery bags you're collecting for shower caps.

DRINK WATER:
Save the coins you're spending on soft drinks and chug down water instead. Water will do more for your hair (and body) healthwise than soft drinks.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
- It is best to mix a small batch from the ingredients you purchase AND store the batch in the refridgerator until your next use. This minimizes spoilage.
- Don't start the habit of making homemade mixtures with the same tools you use prepare your food. Keep a separate stack of tools for each purpose.
- If you want oils and butters in their purest form, go for extra virgin and unrefined, respectively.
- Essential oils can add a natural fragrance to your mixtures. Some also have moisturizing and stimulation properties. Adding essential oils will cost you another $5+, but a little goes a long way so it may be well worth it. Beware of certain essential oils if you are pregnant or have other medical conditions.
-Other inexpensive items include honey (for conditioning), glycerin (for moisturizing or conditioning), etc.
